A Dubbawala also spelled as dabbawalla or dabbawallah literally meaning ("box person"), is a person in India, most commonly found in the city of Mumbai, who is employed in a unique service industry whose primary business is collecting freshly cooked food in lunch boxes from the residences of the office workers (mostly in the suburbs), delivering it to their respective workplaces and returning the empty boxes back to the customer's residence by using various modes of transport. "Tiffin" is an old-fashioned English word for a light lunch or afternoon snack, and sometimes, by extension, for the box it is carried in. For this reason, these dabbawalas are sometimes called Tiffin Wallahs. We have also started our tiffin service in Kolkata and we ensure to meet the consumers requirements.

Have been ordering from this place for quite some time now. Have tried most of their thalis(mutton, chicken, fish, veg) All was excellent just like homemade food. The quality quantity and prices are a complete steal. The service is also quick.

I ordered a 2 Sabzi Veg thali and a Egg thali today through Zomato. The Veg thali contained two sabzis including Aloo Posto and Soyabean Curry. Potato dices fried with poppy seeds were there too included with Urad Dal , Rice , Tomato Chutney and Papad. A truly wholesome meal. The taste was awesome and homely. The food was less oily and spicy just to my liking. As far as the Egg thali is concerned, it contained all the items of the Veg thali plus two Eggs in curry with potato. The taste was awesome as far as the egg curry is concerned. Packaging was superb. Delivery was speedy. Highly recommended for tasty and homely Bengali food.

Was looking for some Bengali dishes to start off the weekend and as I browsed on the zomato app I stumbled upon this joint..So why not order something ? Oh yes ! I did...liked their Special chicken thali and ordered it for a sumptuous lunch and to my surprise the food was delivered within a short span and the contents were exquisite.. Served with basmati rice the thali contains dal, dhoka dalna, paneer , katla fish curry , egg curry , chicken curry , papad , chatni and gulab jamun..I enjoyed the food and Dubbawala didn't disappoint..Give this a try !! The authenticity is here to stay.

Light food. Average taste. Please give leg piece chicken.. gravy is good.. otherwise ok.. chichinga-aloo tarkari good.. chatny not that good. Misti good. Hope to order in the future if the suggestions will be taken care off.

Was looking for veg Bengali dish at the occasion of puja at home and for 8 people ; went through Dubbawala sight and ordered there ; Food was good with the taste of home made recipe and most important less spicy and less oily ; It was fresh and my guests including 2 years baby also liked the taste of polao and Alur Dum. If you want to have the home-like taste and love in your meal and at the same time aren't Feeling like cooking, Then this is the place from where u should be ordering. Promising us the same taste we would get when we cook our meals at home and a large variety of Proper homely Indian dishes to choose from, This place is a power packed bomb. As for the Packaging, There's no doubt it was so good. And when it comes to Food quality and quantity, They are yet again perfect in that. We ordered: Plain Rice Mangshor Jhol Fish Curry Veg Pakora Mix Veg Gulab Jamun Keeping it simple and small, every dish was perfectly cooked, And were pretty Light and not very Masala Masala types. You would love to have food ordered from here oweing to their simplicity.
